how can i spice up a black (and with a bit of white ) lace dress?
i have a dilema. i have a dress for my prom and it’s a tight black lace dress. but it has in some arias white underneath the lace. here’s my problem… what shoes and accesories should i buy because i don’t want to be all in black.. black shoes…black sal. what colour should i use? can i use silver if i already have black and white on my dress? or what??help.
You Can definitely add color to your shoes, it’ll act as accents to your outfit. Shoes with outrageous colors with outfits are in this season, especially for prom. Light turquoise or yellow, bright colors will definitely make the whole outfit not so dark, with a lot of white gold (silver) accessories like big elaborate earrings and/or bracelets.
Hope you have a great prom!
Laced Up Fashion Trend 2009
Imagine lace and you’re extremely likely to think of either prim and proper Victoriana, sexy lingerie, appealing older ladies or Madonna during the 80s. Such is the authority of the fragile fabric that it’s nuance range from the saucy to the prudish to the oh-so-pretty. Prada’s Fall 2008 collection-featuring pieces made of gorgeous and bold tailoring lace very much kick started fashion’s transformed mania with the fabric. Designer Miuccia Prada embraced lace’s prim and apt associations, with a connotation of somewhat darker and more menacing; big knickers peeking out from under sheer high-necked lace dresses and skirts. More lately, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton have both alluded to lace’s seductive boudoir side with lacy bralettes showing under velvet dresses and jumbo blazers.
Observe a chronic theme here? It’s all concerning a special type of peek-a-boo sexiness that says “look but don’t touch-just yet”.
Some designers have squeezed the look for spring/summer, too, in different forms from pretty to bold. Lonely Hearts’ Victorian gothic lace is a standout, in the form of singlets, dresses, floor-length skirts and leggings. For something girlier, look to Sera Lilly, Juliette Hogan, with pretty white lace dresses and skirts, and Twenty-seven Names who have formed lace bodysuits, knickers, leggings and a lace bomber. Stolen Girlfriends Club has also gone amazingly girly for spring with their variety of lace pieces: oversized lace cardigans, lace short shorts, high-waisted full skirts and the pleasantly named Siouxsie’s Wedding Dress – all in shades of nude, black or purple, depending on what look you want to go for.
How to wear it?
Want a bit loving and capricious? Go for nude tones and suggestion another key look of the season at the same time. Want to channel your inner Madonna or Gothic? Wear it bold and black. With its miscellany and wear ability, it’s easy to see why Prada allegedly called lace “the most essential fabric in a woman’s life, from birth, to marriage to death”.
