This happened to me years ago.. Maybe 6-7-8 years ago but it still confuses me…?
Ok… Im 13 and my mom died when i was 7. When i was 8-9 i had a dream. It was me, my dad, and my two brothers at a fair. We saw my mother walking and i asked my father why she was here. Dad said he didnt know. I asked are we dead. The scene was like a peach tint like a sunset. I wanted to go talk to her but my dad said not to mention anything about being dead to her. But he said i wasnt dead. I woke up balling. My face was drenched like my pillow and parts of my blanket so it mustve been a long crying period. Was it just because i was sad? Or was is a phycilogical thing?

Yes, I think it was mainly because you missed your mom and you were sad about it, 7-8 years old is very young to try to grasp the concept of death. In this imagery, it seems that you are trying to grasp the concept of dead / not dead, and trying to understand what it means to you. There are 5 stages that many people go through in the grieving process. We don’t all go through them at the same pace, or even in the same order, and some folks skip a stage or two along the way, depending on the circumstances. The stages associated with the grieving process are denial, bargaining, anger, depression, and acceptance. The acceptance stage of grieving doesn’t mean that you think it’s ok, or that You Don‘t still miss the person or anything like that, but it means that you have come to terms with the idea that your mom is dead, and begin to move on with your life, knowing that she can’t be with you in person, but always in spirit. Even though you were crying and releasing a lot of pent up grief during the dream, the imagery feels to me like you were on your way to the acceptance stage of your grieving. In a way you were looking back to a time when things were more fun in your life, your family is at a fair, and your mom is there too. Sunset in dreams is often symbolic of things like closure, and resolution, so since this dream takes place at sunset, you’re trying to grasp what it means to you that your mom is dead, but the sunset atmosphere suggests to me that you also worked out some of those answers for yourself during this dream.
