Rugosa Roses – fragrant rose bushes Strong and Beautiful
Rugosa roses are among the rose bushes harder and more handsome available. They are fragrant, black spot and mildew resistance and vigorous producers of a – a recurring blooms throughout the season. Rugosa roses can be distinguished from other roses by their leaves hard, textured, veined very straight and thorny stems. In contrast with foliage, flowers Rugosa Rose looks very fragile, almost like silk that has been crumpled.
Rough prefer light soil, sandy in full sun to partial shade, makes them particularly suitable for planting sea. Rugosa roses tolerate salt and drought. Founded in Denmark in 1914, Fru Dagmar Hastrup is loved for its abundance of red berries in fall and hip flowers elegant pink emit a sweet fragrance, clove-like. The flowers will reach two to three inches wide and repeat exceptionally well all season and has the rare ability to show the hips and blooms at the same time. The green leaves turn rich golden brown and then fall. Lady Dagmar reach only four feet high and wide. A beautiful addition to any garden.
Planting and Care
- For best results plant in spring or fall.
- They prefer light, sandy soil in full sun to partial shade. Tolerant of shade and heavy clay soils.
- Fertilize with Rose-Tone.
- Deer resistant.
- Hardy in zones 3-9.
