Retirement Transition Plan: Three ways to clear the way for Retirement

There is much to think about When planning for retirement – what you do, where you live, how to stay healthy, and how to cope with the changes that are required to come your way. It's easy to go to overwhelming. Do not think about building a beautiful home, new in a pile of rubble, so why cling to the remains that keep you from living life we were meant to live?

Sometimes in their eagerness to move to the next thing, You Can not realize that there are a lot of debris in the road. Before start building your future, take some time to:

1. Make peace with the past. You may think that the past is past, but chances are you will not leave build on what you really want. Releasing the power the past has on you is crucial to achieve the kind of freedom we yearn for in this next stage of life. Forgiveness is the key. Before You run screaming from the room, listen to me.

When I left my career as a television and special events producer behind I had a lot of anger about how he had been treated in my last position. I was making great money, had a high profile, and it was really good what he was doing. I had a wonderful relationship with my boss, until this last year when he became the scapegoat of the moment. All the years I worked there, someone was the scapegoat. I never dreamed I could be me.

The abuse that came my way was really crazy-making – without rhyme or reason. Just came out of nowhere again and again and again, until I realized I was an adult woman in the election about how it would be treated, and where I'd like to share my gifts. I became, the anger came with me.

After beating my head against the proverbial brick wall several times, I decided to deal with the past. It was not easy, but eventually I was able to get a 30,000 feet view of the situation. While my boss's behavior was inexcusable, I could see that this powerful man, brilliant was full of uncertainties. I also had the opportunity to see the incredible opportunity I had – to do the job that I love with people I love working with. Once I let go of my anger, I could spend a life he really wanted.

2. Perfect present. In the training world, there is a saying, "this is perfect, even when it is not. "Like forgiveness, this is not an easy concept to understand, but once you do, life becomes much easier.

My client, Doreen, was working in sales for a major financial institution, and was released constantly in the bottom half of their division. Blamed the company, and was so vocal in his discontent, his boss around and run the other way when he saw coming Doreen.

With training, he realized if he left for another job, it would remain the same person. Stay put for a while given the opportunity to work in the transfer of their perspective, exploring what was next, while still receiving a salary strong, and try some new ways of being. She made a game to change their attitude, and within six months was # 3 in sales. His boss, even began arriving at their advice on ways the company could improve.

Doreen recently left the company to start an online business. She is excited about the future and knows that his new attitude and the ability to see opportunity in every situation will be very valuable in the growth of your business.

3. Reorient your life around your gifts. I bet that like many of us, you've spent a lot of years doing work that is good, but do not use full of gifts – the skills, abilities, passions that light from the inside out.

JoJo had a successful career in publishing, I wanted to follow forward, but I wanted to do differently this time. She wanted to know what they really wanted to do and perform, instead of seeking a career just because make money. With training, began to explore his desire to paint. She created a small easel, canvas and paints in a corner of his office and committed to paint to just 15 minutes every day.

JoJo was surprised to discover that while she loved the painting, she loved to earn money to take care of themselves itself, as well as entertaining friends and family back home. In short, JoJo bought a charming B & B in need of some TLC, all rooms painted a rich warm color, filled with art (yours and others), and opened to guests throughout the year. That was five years ago, and JoJo loves his new life.

In taking stock of where you've been, where are you now, and that you are at its core, you are ready for retirement you really want.
