mating neon tetras?
I thought neon tetras were hard to get to mate? but I just got 5 and now a week on they are like mating crazy! i seem to have 2 females and 3 males. Whats the chances of these eggs even hatching ? I’m kind of new to these fish and I’m panicking I dont want loads of neons !! haha I thought my water was too alkaline… but apparently the water must be acidic if they are mating what do you think? :S
they are DEFINATELY releasing eggs. 
You are very fortunate to get as far for mating neon tetras. Here is some info that should interest you.
An all glass aquarium,about 12x10x10 inches ,should be cleaned and sterilied. It should be filled with 4 1/2 inches of ditilled water and be allowed to age for 2 weeks. A special solution in a glass jar should be prepared as follows;Pour some distilled water over oak or elm bark. Filter the solution through glass wool until it is clear as possible. Add this solution to the aged water until a recording of 6.5 on the PH meter is reached. Sterilize a bunch of Fontinalis in a solution of 1 tablespoon of alum to 1.75 pints of distilled water for 5 minutes. Rinse the Fontinalis and place in the center of the breeding tank,leaving space for the fish to swim freely.. Maintain a temperature of 73-5 to 74 f. Choose a fine pair of neons,over 9 months old,transferring them in a dip tube. Keep the breeding tank in subdued light. Remove parents after spawning. Cover the tank for 24 hours so that no light or other disturbance will enter. Prepare brine shrimp to feed the youngsters 3 days after hatching. If after 4 days the parent fish have not spawned,take them out and start all over again.
