benefits of aluminum based printed circuit boards
Benefits of Aluminum based Printed Circuit Boards:
• Dissipation of heat without using additional heatsinks;
• Mechanically rigid, increasing the physical strength of the assembly;
• Reduces the effect of thermal stress on all components, increasing life and durability;
• Improved thermal conduction leading to versatility in component and tracking layout enabling PCB dimensions to be reduced; and
• Reduces component operating temperatures, improving reliability.
Furthermore, aluminum has a few good natures of itself:
Light Weight
Aluminum is a very light metal with a specific weight of 2.7 g/cm3, about a third that of steel. For example, the use of aluminum in vehicles reduces dead-weight and energy consumption while increasing load capacity. Its strength can be adapted to the application required by modifying the composition of its alloys.
Corrosion Resistance
Aluminum naturally generates a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment such as anodizing, painting or lacquering can further improve this property. It is particularly useful for applications where protection and conservation are required.
Electrical and Thermal Conductivity
Aluminum is an excellent heat and electricity conductor and in relation to its weight is almost twice as good a conductor as copper. This has made aluminum the most commonly used material in major power transmission lines.
Reflectivity
Aluminum is a good reflector of visible light as well as heat, and that together with its low weight makes it an ideal material for reflectors in, for example, light fittings or rescue blankets.
Ductility
Aluminum is ductile and has a low melting point and density. In a molten condition it can be processed in a number of ways. Its ductility allows products of aluminum to be basically formed close to the end of the product’s design.
Impermeable and Odourless
Aluminum foil, even when it is rolled to only 0.007 mm thickness, is still completely impermeable and lets neither light aroma nor taste substances out. Moreover, the metal itself is non-toxic and releases no aroma or taste substances which make it ideal for packaging sensitive products such as food or pharmaceuticals.
Recyclability
Aluminum is 100 % recyclable with no downgrading of its qualities. The re-melting of aluminum requires little energy: only about 5 percent of the energy required to produce the primary metal initially is needed in the recycling process.

Help on selling paper beads?
I make these paper beads that my teacher taught us how to do in art class. The girl in my school who makes recycled jewelry loves my beads but now that she moved to California I have all these beads and nothing to do with them. I live in Neptune, New Jersey. Where whether it be around here or online can I sell these beads? My beads aren’t like any one else’s I know. Mine are really even and are Not Just the plain old bead shapes, mine are so different. It could take up to ten minutes to get one bead done, and that is not including the lacquer being put on and drying, and ideas on how to sell these?
Your best option will depend on how many beads you have to sell, whether you plan to make more, and how comfortable you are with cold calling places. But here are some options for online and offline sales.
Visit local bead stores and ask if they are interested in selling your beads there. They may be interested in buying them outright or in selling them on consignment (normally a 30/70 or 40/60 deal where you get the larger percentage and they get the smaller percentage). If you have a large quantity but do not intend to produce more, You Can ask about doing a Trunk Show. Then you would just sell for a couple of days. The store would either take a cut or you would pay a fee.
Tips on marketing them to the store, regardless of sales method:
1. Know how much you need to be paid per bead – work the numbers out based on materials used, labor time, etc. Not knowing what you need to make off of each bead will look bad.
2. Dress nicely.
3. Bring the beads in a nice container.
4. Bring a few sample peices of jewelry made with the beads or featuring the beads. You can also use photos if you have nice ones.
5. If you are still in touch with your classmate, ask her to send you some pictures of jewelry she has made with the beads and to write a recommendation of the beads and why she loved working with them.
6. Know your selling points: organic, recycled, unique material, High Quality construction, locally made, handmade, etc.
Online places to sell: Ebay, Etsy, Craigslist, other sale sites such as Artfire. Craigslist is free to post things to, but only local buyers will see them. Ebay, Etsy, and other auction or craft websites will charge you various fees for listing the item as well as upon selling the items.
Tips for selling them online:
1. Know your price and how shipping will influence a buyer’s decision. (decide if you can offer free shipping, a standard rate, combined shipping, or pickup options)
2. Have lots of pictures of good quality. Include pictures of ways the beads might be used. This will make people think how they might want to use them!
3. Provide measurements of the beads since a close up photo won’t accurately convey size. You Don‘t want complaints that the bead was larger or smaller than expected.
4. Make sure your text emphasizes the selling points of the beads – recycled, unusual materials, consistent quality, unique, etc.
One last suggestion: Wear jewelry made with your beads. I promise you people will notice and ask after them. I’ve made many sales on my fused glass pendants this way over the years!
