Should I put my fate assistant job on my resume?
So I've been out of college for just under 5 years (English major) and have gained some experience working with companies working out of state for several years, one year working out of state customer service / administration and a few staff jobs back home. However, recently, I had to take jobs flipping burgers and working as an assistant much The Home Depot and have been doing since July '08. Do you think rather than simply ignore my resume?
As someone who hires people, I would suggest you omit the specific job, but indicate in your letter that you have been doing a temporary job in the meantime the search for a permanent position. That in at at least explain what you have been doing during your gap in employment. Gaps look bad without any explanation.
